These paleo chocolate brownie energy bites are packed with protein, naturally sweetened and oh so chocolaty. I dare you to eat just one!
The other night I was so needing chocolate {hello, hormones} and I didn’t have any dark chocolate to snack on. So I made these chocolate brownie energy bites. I mixed a little bit of this, a little bit of that. The base is almond flour, almond butter and cocoa powder. Oh, don’t forget about those little hemp hearts too. Always gotta throw some of those in there cause I’m obsessed.
You guys, these really do taste like brownies! With only pure maple syrup as the sweetener, they are fudgy and so delicious. I ALMOST feel guilty when I eat 3 of them, but then I remember that they are not too bad for a chocolate treat. With the high dose of protein, they make for a great little mid-afternoon energy boost too!
- 1/2 cup almond flour
- 1/4 cup organic cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup hemp hearts
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 6 tablespoons natural almond butter
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
