I tell you what, you can never have too many smoothie recipes. Am I right? Green smoothies, berry smoothies, and orange creamsicle smoothies are on the top of my list. Smoothies are one of the quickest and most refreshing ways to start your day!
I can remember as a kid asking my mom for peanut butter and banana sandwiches. Just about everyday. I couldn’t get enough, especially when she would add a drizzle of honey. It was comfort food for me. My mom was {and still is} so good about warming our hearts with our favorite foods. She loves us well.
Turning a childhood snack into a smoothie, that’s what I’m up to today. By adding frozen banana, creamy peanut butter and oats to coconut milk, you get a morning drink that’s sure to please any kid at heart. For nut allergies, sunflower seed butter works great too!
- 1 1/4 cup So Delicious Dairy Free unsweetened coconut milk or almond milk
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 cup ice
- 1/2 cup certified gluten free rolled oats
- 3 tablespoons creamy peanut butter or sunflower seed butter
- 1-2 teaspoons pure maple syrup or honey
- Place coconut milk, frozen banana, ice, oats, peanut butter and maple syrup in high powered blender.
- Blend on high 1-2 minutes, until smooth and oats are finely ground.
- Pour into glasses and serve.

I make a smoothie like this and we call it a Crazy Monkey. I like the addition of the oatmeal. I’ve been using organic peanut powder in my smoothies and your energy bites recipe.
